Cecilia Strzyzowski case: the 45-minute window in which they believe Sena and her parents killed her

2023-06-29T22:37:43.125Z

Highlights: Prosecutors estimate that Cecilia Strzyzowski was killed between 12.16 and 13.01 on Friday, June 2. At that time, César Sena, the girl's partner, and her parents Emerenciano Sena and Marcela Acuña were in the house. Parents and son were transferred in the morning to the prosecutor's office, with a strong security operation, but refused to testify. Investigators believe that the Senas acted with "premeditation" for "the promise of the trip" to Ushuaia with work and housing.

Prosecutors estimate that the young woman was killed between 12.16 and 13.01 on Friday, June 2. They will hold a press conference today.

A 45-minute window. At that time, between 12.16 and 13.01 on Friday, June 2, Cecilia Strzyzowski was murdered in the house of Santa Maria de Oro 1460, the home of the Sena family. And at that time, César Sena, the girl's partner, and her parents Emerenciano Sena and Marcela Acuña were in the house.

That is the hypothesis of the Special Prosecutor Team (EFE) in charge of Jorge Cáceres Olivera, Jorge Gómez and Nelia Velázquez, as revealed by Cáceres Olivera in an interview on Radio Rivadavia hours after reading the three the accusation.

"The modality they implemented is not determined. Cecilia entered in the morning hours. We reduced the range from 12.16 to 13.01. We believe that the fatal outcome occurred at that time. The only three people at that time are the Sena," he said.

This Thursday night, prosecutors had planned to give a press conference in which it is discounted that they will provide more details of the investigation, which led them to formalize, also this Thursday, the accusation against the three members of the clan for aggravated homicide. Parents and son were transferred in the morning to the prosecutor's office, with a strong security operation, but refused to testify.

César Sena is charged with "homicide triply aggravated by the link, by the premeditated contest of two or more people and for having been carried out in a context of gender violence." Emerenciano Sena and Marcela Acuña, for "aggravated homicide by the premeditated collaboration of two or more people as co-author".

The other four detainees, Fabiana Cecilia González (36), José Gustavo Obregón (42), Gustavo Melgarejo (29) and Griselda Lucía Reinoso (41), were charged with a more lenient qualification, "aggravated concealment", which provides for sentences of between 1 and 6 years in prison.

Investigators believe that the Senas acted with "premeditation" for "the promise of the trip" to Ushuaia with work and housing, which in reality was never going to happen. And that as part of that plan, they were together in the house at the time of the murder.

A sinister plan

Prosecutors believe that the Senas wanted to "get Cecilia out of the way" and that is why they devised a plan to kill her and make her body disappear, which began with the lie of the trip to Ushuaia. That's where the young woman thought she was going, when a security camera recorded her entering the family's home. It was the last time she was seen.

For the investigation, Marcela Acuña would be "the ideologue" of the crime and would have pressured her son César to divorce the young woman just a few weeks after the marriage they had contracted behind the Sena's back. She and Emerenciano arrived at the house around noon, so prosecutors are convinced that the homicide, believed to have been by strangulation, would have happened in that window between 12:16 and 13:01.

After killing Cecilia, the Sena would have taken her body to their chanchería located in Campo Rossi. There they incinerated him, in a fire that lasted four days: Gustavo Melgarejo, landlord of the place, and his wife, Griselda Reinoso, would have been in charge of "fanning the flames". Then, he began the process to "discard the cremated body." For that, they believe that they crushed it with blows with "a blunt element", which could have been the shovels that Gustavo Obregón and César Sena had requested from the landlord Melgarejo.

Then, those charred and beaten remains would have been put in a bag and thrown into the Tragadero River. In a dredging in this watercourse, objects were found that Cecilia's mother recognized as belonging to the young woman, such as a pendant she always wore. Fragments of human bones were also found, which are still being examined by experts in forensic anthropology. In addition, the blood stains found on the matrimonial bed of Sena and Acuña, who donated the furniture to a pregnant woman from the Emerencian neighborhood, will be analyzed.
