Ben Gurion Airport is struggling to withstand the heavy loads of the beginning of the summer vacation and Eid al-Adha.The Israel Airports Authority issued a notice asking the public to refrain from arriving at the airport with private vehicles, but many did not listen to the preliminary request, and so the parking lots filled to capacity and many missed their flights.
These are passengers of many airlines and not one airline, while many of them searched for parking for a long time, to the point where they missed their flight.
In addition, 130 suitcases did not board the original flights and passengers who departed will have to cope without their baggage during their overseas vacation, at least during the first hours or days of the vacation.

At the same time, there is a shortage of security personnel for tomorrow morning, which threatens further delays at the airport tomorrow as well. The Airports Authority announced that the congestion is expected following the start of the summer vacation and the Eid al-Adha holiday, and that they are expected to continue at least until Monday, when a demonstration is also scheduled to take place at Ben Gurion Airport.
