About a year ago, the Northern Command announced a new struggle waged by Hezbollah, which it called "interior design," Walla learned Wednesday. As part of the organization, the organization's military wing began to increase its activity in the Israeli border area in two stages: transferring forces to the border area and establishing observation posts near it. After the establishment of Hezbollah's post in Israeli territory, new revelations about the organization's activity on the border are revealed.

In the first stage, the organization is working to transfer fighters of the Radwan Force, an elite unit in the organization, from deep in southern Lebanon to new bases, outposts and positions in the border area so that they will constitute a fighting force capable of penetrating Israeli territory in several locations simultaneously.

At the same time, in the second stage, the organization establishes observation posts and creates a presence along the border dozens of meters from the Israeli border, very close to the Blue Line (an imaginary border that received UN approval AB). According to sources in the security establishment, every two weeks Hezbollah establishes temporary posts under the guise of an environmental organization that includes tents or mobile structures on the border. After that, the process of consolidation begins in the field by deploying personnel and establishing infrastructure.

In response to this activity, the IDF decided to embark on an engineering campaign that includes the construction of an obstacle in several formations along the entire Israeli-Lebanese border in coordination with UNIFIL forces. For the project, led by the commander of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Uri Gordin, the government allocated hundreds of millions of shekels to finance digging trenches, building walls and fences, and placing advanced technologies in places where there are collection and observation gaps. Most of the budget went to the IDF, and the Ministry of Defense expressed satisfaction with the pace of progress in construction on the ground in several locations simultaneously.

However, about a month and a half ago, without prior intelligence warning, IDF forces in the Har Dov area noticed unusual Hezbollah activity near the Blue Line, a senior security source confirmed. As part of the activity, the organization erected two tents and erected armed Hezbollah operatives in them. The new post was built in Israeli territory but only hundreds of meters from a Hezbollah military compound in Lebanese territory, where a larger force is located.

Walla also learned that Hezbollah operatives have recently been conducting night patrols along the border from this military compound in addition to the overt day patrols – contrary to the 1701 agreement signed between Israel and Lebanon with UN mediation after the Second Lebanon War. However, according to intelligence sources, the erection of the tents in Israeli territory was not deliberate, but rather due to Hezbollah's incorrect measurement.

Information presented by the Ministry of Defense indicates that despite Israel's frustration, the activity at the newly established post does not pose a threat to Israeli outposts or communities that are very far from the site, and that in any case, the IDF regularly monitors activity at a position manned by the organization's militants. Hezbollah is refusing to evacuate the tents for the time being, apparently because of the Israeli media coverage and the IDF's insistence on evacuating them immediately back to Lebanese territory.

Although a security source clarified that Israel had already filed a complaint with the UN, Defense Minister Yoav Galant instructed the Northern Command to prepare for the removal of Hezbollah's infrastructure from Israeli territory. The area has already been measured and proven that Israel is right. And it is believed that Hezbollah will eventually evacuate the tents and militants. The security source assessed that, as far as the IDF is concerned, the process of evacuating the infrastructure will be carried out without fatalities on the Lebanese side, "since this is not Hezbollah's strategy but rather a mistake on the part of the organization's operatives on the ground."

About a week ago, it was reported that representatives of the IDF's Foreign Relations Unit had submitted a complaint to UNIFIL about Hezbollah's expansion into Israeli territory. According to military sources, first one position was discussed, and then another. However, the Lebanese army claimed that it was Lebanese territory. According to a security source, messages were conveyed through diplomatic and military channels that if the positions established on the border were not evacuated, an engineering operation would be carried out to evacuate the area.
