Shooting in the children's room on Friday afternoon: Journalist and Lod resident Ofra Lax posted on her Twitter account on Friday that 12 bullets penetrated a family's home on the city's Jewish Legion Street. She tagged National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir in a tweet.

That tweet caused a great uproar, when Mayor Yair Revivo and a close associate of Prime Minister Netanyahu enlisted his brother Eli, a Likud MK, to issue an ultimatum. According to him, he will not vote with the coalition until the Shin Bet is brought in to deal with crime in the Arab sector.

The neighbor added: "It appears to have been a deliberate shooting. It's not clear whether this is a mistake in identification or if they wanted to harm the family, it's a big surprise and a great fear, so the family itself is also afraid to be exposed, there are shootings in the neighborhood between criminals but something like this has never happened before, it's very worrying."
The shooting took place around 15:20 p.m., a neighborhood resident told Israel Hayom. "We are talking about 12 bullets that hit the house, some of them in the child's room, who woke up in a panic and his whole bed was covered in shrapnel."
The police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the shooting. The background is likely criminal. Meanwhile, the station's investigators began collecting findings at the scene, to examine the background and circumstances.
