Just like last year, this time too, the parade was accompanied by tensions and concerns in light of the events in recent weeks, in which dozens of anti-gay signs were hung throughout the southern city, reading, among other things, "Mom and Dad = Family."
Among those opposed to holding the parade is the head of the Madabra Ka'Eden yeshiva in the city, Rabbi Tzvi Kostiner, who yesterday even held a demonstration in the city against holding the parade and said that he had conducted "treatments" to change sexual orientation among his students.
