The bulletproof vehicles of Knesset Speakers and opposition leaders over the past eight years have reached the end of their activity on the orders of security officials. At the initiative of the incumbent chairman, MK Amir Ohana, the vehicles were awarded to the elite units - the SWAT unit and the Gideons. At a ceremony held today (Friday) at a secret base in the central region, Ohana told the commanders of the units: "You are our spearhead, fighters who risk their lives, and we owe you a huge debt. I hope that the vehicles will serve you faithfully and protect you from the malicious hand of our enemies."

Ohana gave the elite units three Toyota Land Cruiser and Skoda Superb bulletproof vehicles. The vehicles, which have faithfully accompanied Knesset Speakers Amir Ohana, Yuli Edelstein, Benny Gantz, Yariv Levin and Mickey Levy over the past eight years, as well as opposition leaders Bouji Herzog, Tzipi Livni, Shelly Yachimovich, Benjamin Netanyahu and Yair Lapid, have reached the conclusion of Knesset and ISA security officials to exhaust their activity and will be replaced by modern security vehicles.

The Knesset administration, headed by Speaker Ohana and Knesset Director General Moshe (Chico) Edri, visited the SWAT unit base in the central region and handed over the vehicles for the operational units' activities. During an intimate ceremony, Chairman Ohana met with the commander of the SWAT unit, Brigadier General H. and the commander of Unit 33, and wished them and their fighters great success. "I hope that with these armored vehicles, which have never disappointed us and have brought elected officials over the past eight years safely to every destination in the country from north to south, you will be able to continue your activities and preserve your lives so that you return safely from any mission."
The commander of the SWAT unit, Brigadier General H., gave the Knesset Speaker a symbolic picture of the unit's recent activity in Jenin, saying: "As a token of appreciation and appreciation for strengthening the security of the unit's fighters, we have prepared for you, Mr. Chairman, a special picture from the helmet cameras of the fighters from the recent activity from the heart of the Jenin refugee camp."
