The Chief of the General Staff, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, today (Sunday) awarded a commendation to the General Staff Patrol in the Special Operations Directorate of the Intelligence Directorate and Shayetet 13, the naval commando unit of the Israeli naval arm. The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Intelligence Directorate, Maj. Gen. Aharon Haliwa, the Commander of the Israeli Navy Arm, Maj. Gen. David Sa'ar Salma and other senior officials.
The Chief of Staff accepted the recommendation of the General Staff Citations Committee, headed by the President of the Military Court of Appeals, Maj. Gen. Orly Markman, and with the participation of the Head of the Operations Directorate, Maj. Gen. Oded Basyuk, and the Head of the Strategy and Third Circle, Maj. Gen. Tal Kalman. The citation was awarded for significant activities that made a significant contribution to the security of the State of Israel.
