Well done!:The President's House announced on Sunday evening the list of recipients of the President's Medal on the occasion of the 75th anniversary, for their unique contribution to the Jewish people, the state and Israeli society. This year, the award will be awarded to 13 people in various fields in Israel and the Diaspora. Among the recipients: eight men, five women, two Diaspora leaders and one organization. The ceremony will take place this September.

In the category of personalities who have made a unique contribution to the State of Israel: artist Chava Alberstein, social entrepreneur Adi Altshuler, professor Meir Buzaglo, Rabbi Menachem Hacohen, professor Mona Khoury, Maj. Gen. (res.) Dan Tolkovsky, journalist Carmela Menashe, footballer Bibras Natko, educator Dr. As'ad Araida and social entrepreneur Lena Stern. In addition, the award will be awarded to Moroccan statesman Andrei Azoulay and senior international law professor Erwin Kotler for a unique contribution to the Jewish people.

The Presidential Medal was first awarded by the ninth president, Shimon Peres, z"l, in 2012, and so far 26 individuals have received it. This year, therefore, the list will grow significantly and be renewed with the names of the new winners. The recipients range in age from 35-102 and embody the Israeli and Jewish mosaic, and their contribution is varied, rich and spans wide areas of life.

BaibarsNatcho, until recently captain of the Israeli national soccer team, was the first non-Jewish footballer to wear the armband in a blue-and-white uniform. Baibars, a member of the Circassian community, was born in 1988 in the village of Kama. He began his career at Hapoel Tel Aviv, from which he embarked on an extensive international career that passed, among others, in teams such as CSKA Moscow, Olympiacos and Partizan Belgrade. He has 88 caps for the national team.

Chava Alberstein was born in 1946 in Poland, immigrated to Israel with her parents in 1951, and has been an active singer and songwriter since the 60s. Her work spans different languages and genres, including several songs and albums that have become staples of Israeli culture.

MeirBuzaglo is Professor of Philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and is active in promoting equality in education and spreading the gospel of Oriental and traditional Judaism. In addition, Buzaglo is engaged in renewing the poetic tradition and is active in fostering the study of mathematics in Israel.

Military correspondentCarmela Menashehas served as a military correspondent for the public broadcaster since 1988, she began her career at Kol Israel, and she still serves in a position at the Public Broadcasting Corporation here. Over the years, she was known for her work on the soldiers' conditions of service, and was an address for many of them.
