Not only recreation and idleness: The Employment Service notes that the summer months are characterized by an increasing increase in demand for workers to fill short-term positions in industries whose scope of activity increased significantly during those months, such as tourism, restaurants and even manufacturing.
In parallel with the increase in demand for short-term positions, Israeli girls and boys are on summer vacation and many of them are looking for employment, so that the growing demand should ostensibly meet supply. To date, however, no attempt has been made by the state to mediate between the increased demand and supply during the summer months, and no systematic mechanism has been established to enable the increasing supply of youth to meet the growing demand for workers for short-term jobs.

In order to meet the needs of employers and youth, the Employment Service is launching the Youth Jobs Schedule, which will enable the meeting between the demand for workers to fill short-term positions during the summer months, and the increasing supply of girls and youth looking for work during the summer months. The Youth Jobs Calendar is an online platform found on the Employment Service website that allows employers to offer short-term jobs that are designated or suitable for girls and youth as well, and allows youth to look for work there.
Everything is on site
As far as employers are concerned, all that is required is to open a digital position on the Employment Service website, and the jobs offered will be published immediately to every boy and girl who requests work. The option is given to filter by geographical area, scope of position, professional field, and more.
Last week, the Employment Service launched quietly, offering about 1,500 jobs from hundreds of employers across the country and in a variety of employment sectors. The Employment Service also notes that in the background of the quiet launch is an initiative made by the Employment Service last week to thousands of employers across the country, suggesting that employers who need to fill short-term positions advertise their jobs for youth as well.
