Rain was present at Wimbledon from day 1 and all matches were suspended by rain. In the Central Court and the No. 1, equipped with roofs, the matches were interrupted to close them and be able to continue. However, on the main stage there was a laughing situation that ended with Novak Djokovic passing a towel on the wet grass and with club employees who took more than 50 minutes to arrive with blowers to speed up the drying process.

Djokovic had just won the first set against Argentina's Pedro Cachin in the opening match on Centre Court, while No. 1 Iga Swiatek was beating China's Lin Zhu 6-1, 4-3 at the time of the interruption. The Polish was able to resume and win her match, but Nole and the Cordovan had to wait for the authorities to give the green light for the game to start again.

First they consulted the two players, but later, not sure that the court was free of slips, an employee arrived with a blower to finish drying the court. In the end, others came. An unexpected scene in the most flirtatious of the Grand Slams.

In the rest of the courts, without roof, the interruption will last until the rain ends.
