Minister Ben-Gvir spoke at the graduation ceremony. "I wish success to the fighters in Jenin. The class shows the power, importance of the police and the vitality of the roles. I thank the police commissioner. Today we proudly appoint the leaders of the Israel Police," said the Minister of National Security.

Ben-Gvir referred to yesterday's protest at Ben Gurion Airport and the clashes between demonstrators and the police: "In Israel there is freedom of expression to express our voices non-violently. But all communities have red lines that must not be crossed. There are no blue-blooded people, no one is above the law and before the state."

Overlap in demonstrations

In a conspicuous ceremony in his absence, Tel Aviv District Commander Ami Eshed, who was appointed head of the training division. Senior police and national security officials believe his conspicuous absence suggests his desire to retire from the police. Eshed has not yet clarified his steps, neither in his voice nor through his lawyers. About a month ago, Eshed sent a letter to the police commissioner in which he claimed, among other things, that if he was removed from his position as commander of the Tel Aviv district, it would be considered personal and political impeachment.

Either way, his replacement in Tel Aviv, Peretz Amar, attended the ceremony, and according to senior sources in the organization, the demonstrations in Kaplan this weekend will be an act of overlap.
