The testimony of the main witness in Case 1000, billionaire Arnon Milchan, is nearing completion and will enter its ninth day on Wednesday.

Milchan on his second day of testimony

His testimony will deal today with "Case 2000" (Yedioth Ahronoth, Noni Mozes). He will be cross-examined by Netanyahu's defense attorney and Yedioth Ahronoth's lawyer, Arnon Mozes, in what will be his last cross-examinations as a witness.

Milchan has already said on the witness stand that the prime minister and his wife asked him to intervene in the deal with Noni Mozes. According to him, the prime minister asked him to stitch together a deal in which the number of copies distributed by Israel Hayom would be low and in return they would not attack him in Yedioth Ahronoth.

Prime Minister's wife interrupts

On the sixth day of testimony, Milchan admitted that the presence of the prime minister's wife, Sarah Netanyahu, in the Brighton courtroom bothered him. Prosecutor Liat Ben-Ari said at the start of the hearing: "This morning when Adv. Gildin and I entered, the witness was already sitting here and he turned to us and asked us to say that he feels very uncomfortable in a situation where Mrs. Netanyahu, the prime minister's wife, is sitting in a hall in Brighton and the prime minister is sitting in Jerusalem. He feels uncomfortable and asks the court to understand his feelings. He repeated this to Haddad as well. I asked him for permission to tell the court and he confirmed that I would."

Tomorrow (Thursday) will be the last day of testimony, with a re-interrogation by the State Prosecutor's Office. Prosecutor Liat Ben-Ari announced that in light of Milchan's contradictory versions, the investigation would take a long time.

Milchan's Security Past - No to Zoom Discussion

In recent days, the Defense Ministry announced that Milchan cannot be testified about his security past through the visual documentation, which operates through the Zoom software that transfers the testimony from the courtroom in Brighton, England, to the Jerusalem District Court.

Adv. Haddad, Netanyahu's defense attorney, argued that the security aspects are essential to the line of defense and that he is required to do so. The justices ordered that dialogue be held between the defense attorneys and the prosecution regarding the possibility of submitting documents by consent, so that Milchan's testimony could be waived in terms of security and Prime Minister Netanyahu's defense would not be harmed.

So far, the parties have not yet reached an agreement.
