Eight residents of Sur Bahir in East Jerusalem were arrested Friday morning on suspicion of humiliating an apparently mentally ill man at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in the capital. The suspects documented the incident and livestreamed it on TikTok.
An initial investigation revealed that the victim was there for medical treatment and the suspects came to visit their friend, who is hospitalized there, apparently after he was injured in the riots that took place in East Jerusalem a few days ago.

The suspects who were arrested were taken to the Moriah police station for interrogation. During the day and in accordance with the findings of the investigation this morning, any of them will be brought before the court for a hearing in their case.
The Israel Police said: "We will continue to act with determination to maintain the safety of every person, including monitoring related offenses on social networks, locating and arresting suspects and interrogating them accordingly."
