Highlights: Political elements are trying to enlist Bar-David in the fight against Israel's budget cuts. The chances of a general strike are slim, according to Bar- David's spokesman. "We are full of hope that everyone will come to their senses and stop the demon dance," he said. The Knesset is expected to vote on the budget cuts on Monday. The vote will be followed by a vote on whether to extend the cuts to the rest of the budget, which could be extended to the full budget.

Political elements are trying to enlist the Histadrut chairman in the struggle, after he had already shut down the economy in the past following Galant's dismissal • Chairman of the Histadrut's information department told Israel Hayom: "We continue to monitor with concern and are in contact with all sides"

In recent days, Arnon Bar-David, chairman of the Histadrut, has received many requests from various elements from all corners of the political spectrum, who are trying to enlist him in the struggle this time as well and get him to intervene and take sides. This, as he did at the end of March, when he shut down the economy following the dismissal of Defense Minister Yoav Galant. At the time, Bar David received extensive and exceptional support from both the business sector and the local government.

However, as of now, Bar-David's voice has not been heard. At the Histadrut, they are currently asking themselves whether the Histadrut should intervene whenever there are substantive and fateful decisions made by the government.

The Histadrut also mentions that the main goal of shutting down the economy last time was to get the sides back to the negotiating table, and now that one side has blown up the talks, there is not much that can be done. So as of now, the chances of seeing another economic shutdown are slim.

Yaniv Levy, chairman of the Histadrut's information department, told Israel Hayom: "We are aware of the situation and are full of hope that everyone will come to their senses and understand that we are one society and we have no other country, and that they will stop the demon dance that harms Israeli society. We continue to monitor with concern and are in contact with all parties."
