Members of the Jabal Mukaber group in the capital filmed themselves playing soccer at the entrance to the Dome of the Rock mosque • The organization "Bidinu – For the Temple Mount" filed a complaint with the police, demanding an investigation into the matter: "Players from the team, with their faces uncovered, violate the law with a flagrant foot, while no one interferes with their actions"

A soccer team from Jerusalem's Jabal Mukaber neighborhood documented itself at a soccer match at the entrance to the Dome of the Rock Mosque on the Temple Mount as part of a social media advertisement. The footage, posted on the team's Facebook account, shows the players dressed in Palestinian Authority colors and with Palestinian flags kicking a ball in several areas in Jerusalem, including the Armon Hanatziv promenade, near the neighborhood where they live, and on the Temple Mount.

Tom Nissani, executive director of Bidinu – For the Temple Mount, filed a complaint with the police through attorney Daniel Shimshilashvili, demanding action against the degradation of the holy site. "Recently, my client was exposed to a post on his Facebook page according to which the football team of the Jabal Mukabber neighborhood filmed a promotional video, with many parts of the video filmed on the Temple Mount, a place that is indisputably holy to the Jewish people," the lawyer wrote.

"In the video you can see that players from the team, with their faces uncovered, violate the law with a flagrant foot, while no one interferes with their actions, and apparently this was even done with the knowledge and coordination of those entrusted with law enforcement on the Mount. Needless to say, where Jewish believers ascend to the Mount with dozens of eyes of police officers accompanying them, lest they dare to murmur a prayer on their lips or spread an Israeli flag, "Rachmana Litzlan," it is impossible to accept the lack of such extreme enforcement when it comes to an offense that may hurt the feelings of Jewish believers, for whom the holiest place is, Generated by a football game."

The lawyer quoted the Supreme Court, which ruled that football matches should be limited to approved compounds on the Mount, such as a school located there, "so that the sanctity of the place will be preserved against its desecration."

According to Shimshilashvili, the publication indicates that at least two serious offenses have been committed, and therefore those involved should be investigated. "I ask you to order, as stated in the record of this letter, the opening of a criminal investigation and the summoning of those involved for their interrogation under warning. I would also like you to bring this case to the attention of the relevant authorities responsible for maintaining law and order in the area, lest such an incident not be repeated, in order to prevent further and severe harm to the feelings of an entire public, whose heart soured at the sight of desecration and degradation of its shrine."
