MK Danny Danon today (Monday) filed a request with the Rishon LeZion court for a restraining order from his home in Ra'anana against Hagai Frenkel, an activist in the "Raanana protest" who, according to Danon, initiated the laying of barbed wire fences that blocked his entrance tax days ago.

Danon's letter of request stated: "For several months, the respondent has been blatantly harassing and violating the peace of life of the applicants and their family members (including their minor daughters), under the cover of the protest."

"The respondent decided to harass the applicant personally, and to protest against him at home, in order to pressure him to oppose legislative actions in the Knesset, but in order to realize this goal, and as a result of the actions carried out by the respondent as detailed below, all family members are harassed, severely damaging their peace and routine."

Danon claims in the restraining request that "Frankel, in recent weeks, took part in blocking the gate of the MK's house with barbed wire, operating a sound system and using a megaphone at the entrance to his home in the early hours of the morning, which disturbed his family."

"They want to order removal from their homes"

The MK also wrote that he "contacted the police about the demonstrations outside his home and that they instructed that a regular and noisy protest should take place at a distance of 270 meters from his home and a peaceful protest at 70 meters."

In light of this, in the letter of application, the Danons ask the court to order Frenkel to be removed from their home for a distance of 270 meters.

MK Danny Danon: "I am in favor of freedom of protest, but the law in Israel is clear and determines what can and cannot be done. The Israeli police determined where demonstrations are permitted and prohibited. Mr. Frankel regularly chose to act criminally and try to intimidate members of my household."

Hagai Frenkel said in response: "I am not aware of a restraining order, I have not received any update. I am very sad and disappointed that an elected official chooses to deal with these trifles instead of fulfilling his role and serving all citizens of the country. To take care of the economy, personal security, and prevent the regime coup instead of dealing with restraining orders against a law-abiding citizen who is not a danger to democracy."
