A 20-year-old woman was critically injured in a car accident over the weekend on Route 5 when the driver of a stolen vehicle collided head-on with her. Since then, the medical staff at Beilinson Hospital has been fighting for her life. According to suspicions, the Palestinian minor who tried to steal the car turned around on the road and drove against the direction of traffic.
During the night between Thursday and Friday, the accident occurred between the young driver and a Palestinian minor who was driving a car stolen from Ra'anana. The accident occurred after the Palestinian broke through a police checkpoint. An MDA team that was called to the scene evacuated the young woman to Beilinson in serious condition, suffering from injuries to her head, chest and abdomen. The suspect was taken to hospital in fair condition with bruises. At the same time, his detention was extended until Wednesday.

About a year ago, Gabriel Barda, 65, from Oranit, was killed in similar circumstances in a car accident in Samaria. This was after a Palestinian car thief collided head-on. Barda, the father of journalist Nasli Barda, was on his way home from a family event when he celebrated his 65th birthday the day before.
The police investigation revealed that the offending driver stole the vehicle from Kfar Saba, and from there drove wildly towards the Occupied Territories, hitting another vehicle at the Oranit interchange before the fatal head-on collision. He was killed during the accident.
