Baseless prophecies of rage: The "crisis" is a figment of the opposition's imagination | Israel Hayom

For 14 years, except for a one-and-a-half-year hiatus, Benjamin Netanyahu has served as prime minister. Throughout, his many political and media opponents predict that he will bring about a political collapse on Israel.

At the beginning of the previous decade, while still a member of the government, Ehud Barak predicted a "political tsunami." He was soon joined by Yair Lapid with the claim that "Netanyahu has lost the Democrats and no longer understands America." The group of commentators who echo both of them sold to the public the same lies that "Netanyahu is working with the Republicans on a full basis" and the like.

The prophecies of rage continue as if there is no real reality. As if there were no Abraham Accords. As if under Netanyahu, Israel did not become a global technology center. As if her standing in the world had not been upgraded.

Controversies have been and always will be

In recent days, the reverse reading of the crystal ball has continued. The President of the United States calls Benjamin Netanyahu and invites him to a meeting on American soil.

In response, the charlatans, who only a minute ago claimed that Biden would take the most difficult step of "reevaluating" Israel, are burrowing behind all sorts of excuses to convince the public that there is a crisis – even though Biden both spoke with Netanyahu and arranged to meet him in the United States. They simply do not let the facts bother them.

Are there any disagreements with the US? Of course there is. There always have been and always will be, and it is also our full right to take independent positions. But there is no crisis. On the contrary, security, intelligence, and technological cooperation is at its peak, with military exercises unprecedented in scope. And if there is no delay, we will soon receive the exemption from the need to obtain an entry visa to the United States.

Only on the night between Monday and Tuesday did Congress pass, for the umpteenth time and by an overwhelming majority, a declarative resolution on American commitment to Israel. Of the 435 members of Congress, 412 voted in favor, including an absolute majority of Democrats.

Only nine members of the extreme wing of the Democratic Party objected. Is this what a crisis looks like?! Is this what a loss of support for the Democrats looks like?!

The answer is no. And of course, a speech by the President of the State of Israel on the occasion of Israel's 75th Independence Day, at the invitation of the leaders of both parties, is a badge of honor for Israel.

As mentioned, there are issues that countries see differently, and there is nothing more natural than that. But there is no crisis, or loss of American support. And if there are no voices from Zion that push the Americans to distance themselves from Israel, neither will they.
