The Nancy prosecutor's office announced this Wednesday, July 19, to open a judicial investigation of the charge of murder, after a man was killed by "at least two shots" Sunday at his home in Badonviller (Meurthe-et-Moselle).
Sunday, shortly after 22:00, the gendarmes were called after a man appeared, alcoholic, in front of the home of his ex-companion, located "a few hundred meters from his own home," said the prosecutor's office to AFP, confirming information from the Republican Lorrain.

Ex-companion
The man, born in 1964, would have, according to the first findings, "shot at least twice against the facade of the house and shot the dog," according to the same source. He then managed to enter the house and shot and killed the victim, a man born in 1973. He was the new companion of the ex-girlfriend of the respondent. He then fled with his weapon.
According to initial forensic findings, the victim was hit by "at least two shots, one to the right side of the chest, the other to the back of the left shoulder." The shots were fired at point-blank range, says the prosecutor. He was pronounced dead on the spot by the Samu doctor.
Seven witnesses
Seven people witnessed the scene "from near or far". The ex-companion of the accused - and new companion of the victim - was on the spot, as well as the two children of the victim, the two children of the ex-companion and "two other young people," says the prosecutor.
On Sunday evening, the Nancy prosecutor's office opened an investigation into the charge of voluntary homicide, entrusted to the Nancy research section, in co-referral with the Nancy research brigade. The accused, who had fled, was finally located in the Vosges and arrested in Senones, Monday morning, by the Dijon branch of the GIGN, after "active research". He remained silent throughout his custody.
