Elkana shared the complexity of her belief in God, and her strong opinion of the people who argue religion with believers, who often do so in a way that creates resistance in her. "There is a difference between religion and the people who represent it," she said. "Some people use it for coercion and negative things." "What do you think about the situation in the country?" the users were curious to know. "If we're really, really transparent, right now we're passing a law that basically says the government can enact any law it wants, without the ability to limit it. Scary. Why? Because no matter what kind of government it is, even if it is secular, religious, leftist, right-wing, once it enacts laws that do not represent the minority, it will not be possible to limit it."
According to her, "The essence of democracy is to protect the rights of minorities. Even if I am not part of the majority, and even if the government does not represent my views, there is still the ability to protect my rights. And especially if there are so many people who come out and protest, and it's so important to them and they're so afraid, I think the government must at least give it some kind of attention and not ignore it.
