Javier Milei, Sergio Massa, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, Patricia Bullrich and Juan Schiaretti have already confirmed their presence. On Tuesday, the first animals of two historic breeds for the country had entered the Rural Exhibition of Palermo. These are "Mercosur", a Shorthorn bull, and "Pericón", a Creole horse. From today to Sunday 30 will be held the livestock fair. On Monday 24, the candidates for president confirmed their presence.

Today the doors were opened to the public of the 135th Rural Exhibition of Palermo, where there will be more than 2,000 animals and 400 companies, but politics will mark the agenda in a presidential election year.

"This is an election year and, surely, these 12 days of exposure will be a must for all political candidates, whether at the national or provincial level," said the president of the Argentine Rural Society, Nicolás Pino.

In this sense, the ruralist alluded to the day of July 24 that the candidates for president with the best chances of winning the elections will participate. Javier Milei, Sergio Massa, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, Patricia Bullrich and Juan Schiaretti have already confirmed their presence.

Nicolás Pino, president of the Argentine Rural Society, at the entrance of the first animals to the property.

On the other hand, Pino referred to the conflict of the countryside with the Government of former President Cristina Kirchner for resolution 125 after Monday 15 years of the "no positive" vote of Julio Cobos in the Senate.

"15 years have passed and we are still talking about the same thing, whether export duties, yes or no, with shameful inflation and poverty rates. And 15 years passed and there is something that in life will not return you that is time and with this round trip Argentina lost valuable time. So let's learn from that and start building," he said.

Finally, the rural leader complained about the policies towards the countryside. "If we want an Argentina that goes forward, we have to talk about three things that are clear: export duty, a terrible tax; the exchange rate, which is disastrous and, most importantly, is that whoever has to send from December, generates the necessary confidence to give producers the predictability we need in the long term, "said Pino.

"We are the only sector that suffers the most from inflation, because we are not price fixers: we get fat on a steer today and we do not know how much we are going to sell the meat years later. We need to be allowed to look far away," he added.

Entry of the first animals

On Tuesday, the first animals of two historic breeds for the country had entered the Rural Exhibition of Palermo. These are "Mercosur", a Shorthorn bull, and "Pericón", a Creole horse.

The first two animals to enter Palermo.

Mercosur, the bull of the Shorthorn breed, belongs to the Santa Cecilia (Trenque Lauquen) hut, owned by Hector Mario and Francisco Eyherabide, who have been bringing animals to Palermo for 51 years. He is 2 years old, and weighs 960 kg. "He is a very tame bull with a good temperament. We have the best expectations, but what we want is to enjoy that are the 200 years of the race; and then try to do the best role possible. We are proud and happy to be present here," said Francisco Eyherabide.

Its name is due to the fact that this bull already has demand for semen in Uruguay and Brazil, and here in Argentina as well. It should be noted, that his sister was Grand Champion last year.

On the other hand, Pericón arrived, a Creole horse from the Breland Chico cabin (Coronel Vidal). "It's a 4-year-old horse, very calm. It is not the first time he participates in the Expo, and this year we have many expectations, although those who come here are all good, "said Magdalena Paz Anchorena, owner of the Cabin, and added: "It is a pride to be the first to enter this year that the race turns 100 years old.
