Each year, Henley's list of the world's strongest passports is published, and the list for 2023 has a turnaround at the top: with the option to enter 192 countries around the world, the Singapore passport has taken the top spot in place of the Japanese passport.
The second place is taken by the passports of several countries, each of which has entry to 190 countries, namely Germany, Italy and Spain. In third place are mainly European countries, which make do with entering "only" 189 countries: Austria, Finland, Luxembourg, France, Japan and South Korea.
In fourth place are Swedish, Irish, British and Dutch passports, with entry to 188 countries around the world.

Those who managed to obtain a Portuguese passport enjoy the fifth strongest passport in the world, alongside Belgian, Czech, Maltese, New Zealand, Norwegian and Swiss passports, with entry to 187 countries.
The Israeli passport is relatively behind, in 22nd place, with entry to 158 countries. The American passport, held by many Israelis, has entry permits to 184 countries, and is ranked eighth in the world.
The worst passport in the world is the Afghan passport, which ranks at the bottom of the list, in 104th place, with entry to only 27 countries. A little above it are the Iraqi, Syrian, Pakistani, Yemeni, Somali, Palestinian, Nepali and North Korean passports, with entry to only 39-29 countries.
