Prior to becoming Deputy Ambassador at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, she served until recently as Acting Senior Director for Middle East and North African Affairs and Director of Gulf Affairs at the U.S. National Security Council. She also served as Deputy Ambassador at the U.S. missions in Nicosia, Cyprus, and Muscat, Oman.

She is a graduate of George Washington University and Cambridge University.
