Talks within the coalition ahead of the vote on reasonableness: Party leaders are determined to pass the law, arguing that capitulation now is "dangerous to democracy," as they put it.

All eyes are on Defense Minister Yoav Galant, who spoke over the weekend with coalition leaders and is trying to examine the possibility of extending the summer session. According to a possible scenario, it will be possible to reach agreements with the opposition and, with the help of the Knesset committee, to extend the session in order to finish with the legislation of the reasonableness grounds - by agreement.

Tens of thousands of marchers arrived in Jerusalem

Gallant, of course, separates his personal and professional columns. On a personal level, his position is firm against refusal and he supports reducing the cause of reasonableness and will even vote in favor of it. On the professional side, he wants to reflect to Netanyahu and the ministers the situation in the IDF.

As noted, the coalition leaders are determined to pass the law and claim that surrender now is dangerous. Coalition Chairman Ofir Katz wrote that "true democracy is not to surrender to a few officers who do not accept a political move. If we capitulate now, democratic elections are meaningless, and we will accept this threat time and time again."

He added, "In a democracy, the voice of the doctor and the pilot is equal to the voice of the supermarket salesman and a factory worker. On Monday, the bill will pass."

The opposition is expected to act decisively

In light of the disagreement in the opposition over whether to boycott the vote on canceling the reasonableness grounds in the Knesset plenum, Labor Party Chairman MK Merav Michaeli calls on the leaders of all opposition factions to meet together and jointly formulate the opposition's measures.

"The citizens of this country who take to the streets week after week expect the opposition to act in a determined and united manner. Whatever the response, it must be the product of a joint decision, and the Labor Party will back any move decided in this forum."
