Russia escalates civilian casualties in Ukraine: The Russian army fired 19 cruise missiles overnight from Crimea at the city of Odesa, Ukraine's third-largest city and one of the country's most important cultural centers.

Unlike previous attacks, in which the Russian military focused on bombing agricultural facilities linked to the wheat production system, tonight's bombing focused on the historic center of the city, a densely populated area designated a UNESCO heritage site.

Among the historic buildings damaged is the city's large Orthodox cathedral, a large and impressive building built at the beginning of the 19th century and considered one of the symbols of the city. Following a missile strike, one of the domes of the building collapsed and a fire broke out. The house of worship sustained enormous damage.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the attack, writing on Twitter: "Missiles against peaceful cities, against residential buildings, cathedral. There is no excuse for Russian evil. As always, this evil will lose. There will definitely be a response to Russian terrorism against Odesa, and they will feel that reaction very well."

Russian media expressed enthusiasm for the damage caused to the center of the Ukrainian city. Television broadcaster and commentator Vladimir Solovyov called in a live broadcast to expand the range of attacks and destroy the city centers of Kyiv, Kharkiv and Lviv.
