Just before the dramatic vote to cancel the reasonableness grounds, and after undergoing a pacemaker transplant procedure, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was discharged Monday morning from Sheba Hospital at Tel Hashomer.

Sheba Medical Center said that during the night, Prime Minister Netanyahu's monitoring device warned of an arrhythmia in his heart. On the recommendation of his doctors, it was decided to implant a pacemaker in his heart. The procedure was performed under sedation by Prof. Roy Beinart and Prof. Eyal Nof and passed successfully, without complications. "The prime minister's medical condition is good, and he will remain for observation in the cardiology department at Sheba," the statement said.

Director of the Sheba Arrhythmia Institute, Prof. Beinart, said: "We identified in the subcutaneous monitor we implanted in the Prime Minister's body a week earlier a temporary arrhythmia that occurred on Saturday night. That is why we urgently invited the Prime Minister to undergo pacemaker implantation. The transplant went smoothly without complications. He is not in a life-threatening situation, he feels great and returns to his daily routine.

"If his heart rate hadn't recovered, and his disorder would have been a few seconds. If the disorder hadn't gone away and he hadn't recovered, we would have actually had a slow heart rate, to the point of unconsciousness and, God forbid, cardiac arrest."

Netanyahu announced the expected procedure to the public last night in a special video message. "It's now midnight and forty-three minutes, and I want to keep you updated on developments. A week ago they put a monitoring device on me, the device beeped tonight warning that I needed to get a pacemaker. I feel great, but I listen to my doctors."
