A man and a woman indicted after the discovery Saturday, July 22 of the lifeless body of Armelle, a 44-year-old woman of Beninese origin in a freezer in Grigny (Essonne) were placed in provisional detention pending a contradictory debate, reported Monday the prosecutor's office of Evry to AFP.
The accused, who was the companion of the victim, is indicted for murder by concubine, said the same source. It is a 47-year-old man residing in the district of La Grande Borne, above a butcher shop, according to a police source.
He was arrested Friday in possession of a handgun and had scratches on his face and blood stains on his legs. The woman is indicted for concealment of a corpse, alteration of a crime scene and violation of the integrity of a corpse.
Phone calls after the murder
Friend of the victim's companion, this 38-year-old woman had telephone exchanges with the defendant after the murder, according to the police source. The police were alerted Friday night when the victim's eldest son went to the Juvisy-sur-Orge police station to declare the disappearance of his mother, whom he had dropped off the night before in the Grande Borne district.
Worried about not having news of his mother, who was supposed to return home at night, and unable to reach her on his mobile phone, the son went Friday near the place where he had dropped her off Thursday night.
