This Sunday, a "rave party" was cut short by the gendarmerie in a field located in Bourideys (Gironde), about an hour from Bordeaux, in a forest area at risk. The police ordered the participants to turn off the music and repack their equipment. But while trying to escape a traffic stop, a participant ran over a man sleeping in the woods.

The driver of the vehicle admitted to "driving under alcohol and drugs" and having "participated in the rave party", according to the Bordeaux prosecutor's office. On the other hand, "it disputes the facts of unintentional injuries". "It's an unfortunate accident," says the gendarmerie. "This woman rolled over an individual who was lying on the ground on a path. He was treated by Langon Hospital for check-ups." According to the prosecutor's office, the latter would suffer a priori "only" a knee sprain and facial injuries, "without the scanner having revealed at this stage of anomaly".

Already convicted twice

The driver of the vehicle, who had 1.42 grams of alcohol in her blood, was taken into custody for unintentional injuries with aggravating circumstances. "Blood samples are being analyzed" for taking narcotics, says the prosecutor. Born in 1985, the driver has already been convicted in 2006 for driving under the influence of alcohol and in 2019 for driving under drugs. "She would therefore be in a state of legal recidivism if toxicological analyzes show that she actually has narcotics in her blood and must therefore expect to see her driving license canceled automatically in this case," says Frédérique Porterie, the public prosecutor in Bordeaux.
