Health Ministry Director General Moshe Bar Siman Tov on Wednesday called on doctors not to try to find work abroad, following the promotion of the legal revolution. "None of us has the privilege to give up the state and the system," Bar Siman Tov said at a Zoom meeting of Science Abroad, an organization that works to bring scientists back to Israel. "The health system will maintain its professional ethos and professional decision-making."
The Health Ministry Director General added: "I know that many people walk around with difficult feelings, which is understandable and sometimes they do instinctive acts because of it, but we have no other country and the health system shows that it is possible to live together in a shared existence - don't go to other systems, stay here. We are committed to maintaining independent decision-making by the institutions."

Yesterday, about 1,100 doctors joined a WhatsApp group called "Doctors and Relocation Doctors," which is planning a relocation to a foreign country, following the cancellation of the environmental grounds. The group's description states that its goal is "mutual assistance in sharing knowledge about relocation." Due to the great response that was registered, another group was opened.
Dr. Matan Bar Yishai, a family physician at Maccabi, said through tears: "I am truly sorry to everyone for the decision we made. I love my country and my patients so much, but in the end it's a family decision. We can't raise our daughters in this situation. The laws of the legal revolution will harm the state and health. We will no longer be a free country."
"We have agreements with a clinic in New Zealand, and we will make the move soon," Dr. Bar Yishai said. "We don't know if we'll come back or if we'll go for good. I don't know what will happen to us or to the country in two years. I know I'm moving to a worse medical system, but I have no choice. I don't know a doctor who hasn't looked for a contingency plan in case the laws are passed."
