The journals of the Agudat Yisrael and Shas parties published editorials Wednesday morning in which one can learn about the positions of these factions regarding the continuation of the legal reform legislation, and about the laws they would prefer to deal with.

An editorial this morning in Agudat Israel's informant journal stated that "Torah Judaism did not join the coalition in order to promote legal reform, but to regulate the status of yeshiva children." The article hinted at Torah Judaism's next step in the next session, which is to promote the draft law: "Torah Judaism hopes that the factions of the coalition will vote together with it on what concerns the bird of its soul."

The article referred to the proposed Basic Law on Torah Study, which caused a storm yesterday: "If the High Court of Justice had not repeatedly placed obstacles on every proposed legal formula on a matter concerning the bird of our souls, Torah Judaism would have no interest in adding more supporting legislation. The whole legislative issue, as well as the Override Clause, have only one purpose: to end the saga of the status of those whose teachings and faith are held – and nothing more."

The bill was also written in an editorial in the journal announcing: "Yes, we have a clear and open goal" – with the intention of regulating the status of yeshiva members by law. As explained in the article, Agudat Israel described a political deal – according to which Torah Judaism supported the reform with the expectation that "the coalition factions will vote with it on what concerns its soul."
