Young and old will have to wait a little longer before bringing out shovels and rakes to enjoy the facilities of Menucourt Plage. The operation that offers entertainment for the families of the town is suspended since Monday, and the installation last weekend of about forty caravans on the Georges-Gallois stadium.
The latter entered the enclosure of the sports equipment during the night from Friday to Saturday, after cutting a fence. The municipality then questioned the prefect of Val-d'Oise, who took Sunday night an order asking them to leave the premises within 48 hours, before resorting to the police. For its part, it has disconnected the informal facilities allowing Travellers to obtain water and electricity.
But the municipality learned on Tuesday that the travellers had challenged the validity of the order at the administrative court of Cergy-Pontoise, through their lawyer. A procedure that suspends the order pending the hearing, scheduled for Thursday morning.
The town hall filed a complaint for degradation and illegal occupation of the stadium
"We are outraged by the way travellers proceed who, not only degrade municipal facilities (fence, automatic watering, grass ...), loot communal property (electricity and water) but also prevent Menucourtois families from benefiting from the activities of Menucourt Plage," explains the city in a note published on Wednesday on its website. She has also filed a complaint for degradation and illegal occupation of the stadium.

If the decree was annulled, the municipality could again call for a rally. On Saturday afternoon, a few hours after the caravans were installed, about thirty-five residents had already gathered in front of the stadium.
