A 38-year-old man from the north is accused of committing a series of serious sexual offenses against six girls, his underage sisters-in-law and other girls who were friends of the family. The cases came to light during a police investigation following a complaint filed a month and a half ago by one of the victims.
Earlier this week, the man was indicted in the Nazareth District Court on charges of raping a minor family member, sodomy of a minor family member, indecent acts against a minor family member and other sexual offenses.

The defendant was arrested following suspicions of rape and sexual offenses committed over many years and serially against several victims, one of whom he began to abuse since she was 8 years old. The first complainant, a 17-year-old girl, said during interrogation that the suspect raped and molested her from the time she was 8 to 16 on multiple occasions, using force and ignoring her suffering.
As the investigation progressed, the names of five other young women who had been sexually abused in the same manner by the defendant on several occasions, while still minors, emerged. Five days later, the defendant was arrested while arriving at Ben Gurion Airport with his wife and children on their way to a family trip to Morocco. After his arrest, he was brought to the Safed police station for interrogation.
His detention was extended from time to time, and on Sunday the Northern District Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against him and a request for detention until the end of the proceedings.
The Israel Police calls on parents and educators to be alert to what is happening among children and adolescents and to report immediately to the police if there is suspicion of harm. "There are criminals who take advantage of the innocence and vulnerability of minors to satisfy their needs. The Israel Police will continue to thoroughly and sensitively investigate suspicions of sexual offenses, especially those committed within the family and against minors and helpless persons, all with the aim of reaching the truth and bringing sex offenders everywhere to justice," the police said.
