Highlights: Two Buenos Aires ice cream parlors and one from Bariloche are among the top 100 on the list for iconic flavors. Cadore and Scannapieco, from the City, and Rapanui, which emerged in Barilche, are included in the list. The list is dominated by 28 Italian ice cream Parlors. The second place in terms of number of appearances is occupied by the United States, with 22. The rest of the ranking is distributed among representatives of Mexico, Japan, India, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Australia, and Austria.

In the ranking of Taste Atlas, a reference of world gastronomy, there is also an ice cream shop in Bariloche.

"In every corner of the world you can find a symphony of frozen delicacies, a variety of creamy flavors created by passionate artisans." Thus begins the publication of the ranking of the gastronomic site Taste Atlas, which placed two Buenos Aires ice cream parlors and one from Bariloche among the top 100 on the list for iconic flavors.

These are Cadore and Scannapieco, from the City, and Rapanui, which emerged in Bariloche and has locations throughout the country.

"The Olivotti family brought their traditional Italian ice cream-making techniques with them when they emigrated to Argentina. Its most iconic flavor is dulce de leche, which perfectly combines Italian technique with a beloved Argentine flavor, "says the Taste Atlas review of Cadore, which has been on Corrientes and Rodríguez Peña Avenue since 1957 and in 2017 had been incorporated into the top 10 worldwide by National Geographic.

Then Rapanui appears. Taste Atlas says that the Bariloche ice cream shop was founded in 1948 and that its outstanding flavor is chocolate "in numerous combinations." In addition, the publication highlights that Rapanui chocolate is "combined with local ingredients to reflect the flavors of Patagonia." And he adds that Rapanui "is more than an ice cream shop; It is a renowned chocolate factory."

In the list of the best hundred is also Scannapieco, the place that in 1938 founded the family of the same name on Alvarez Thomas Avenue, in Chacarita, and which was also highlighted by its dulce de leche.

The two Buenos Aires ice cream parlors coincide with their Italian origin and immigrants who brought recipes and knowledge from their land. And in the list of Taste Atlas that was published a few days ago are, along with two Brazilian and one Venezuelan, the six ice cream parlors that represent South America.

The list is dominated by 28 Italian ice cream parlors. In several pistachio is repeated, which due to import restrictions sometimes becomes difficult to obtain here, as the flavor that represents them. The second place in terms of number of appearances is occupied by the United States, with 22. And the rest of the ranking is distributed among representatives of Mexico, Japan, India, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, Australia, and Austria, among other countries.

"For us, as a family, this recognition is a great pride. We are a great team. We are all committed and we always have the great support of the family," Gabriel Famá, from Cadore, told Clarín, adding: "As my uncle Silvestre Olivotti said, authentic artisanal ice cream is the one that is made and sold in the same place. It combines the same formulation of 66 years ago, the daily elaboration without preservatives or dyes, the quality of the raw material and the passion, with capital letters, to believe that it is always the first day".

"This is a family business that opened in 1938. So we want to keep that classic spirit. That you can have an ice cold drink as it was used in the 60s and 70s and that you feel that warmth that in gastronomic terms a canteen can have where you are served by the waiters of a lifetime, "explained Juan Scannapieco, third generation behind the ice cream parlor, to Clarín in an interview last year.

Taste Atlas is billed as the "Google Maps of food"; or the Atlas of Taste." Founded in 2018 by a Croatian entrepreneur named Matija Babic, it became a global guide that allows you to find reviews and ratings of the gastronomic offer from around the world and is a source of consultation for millions of travelers who are interested in the dishes and typical foods of thousands of destinations.
