A shocking case of violence: An indictment was filed against a 27-year-old resident of Lod who brutally beat his wife while she was in her first months of pregnancy on two separate occasions. The first time when he came back from synagogue and noticed that she was smoking. In another case, after filling their son's bottle with alcohol.
According to the indictment filed by the Prosecution Unit, Shfela Central Branch, the couple had an eight-month-old baby and the complainant was in her first months of pregnancy. About ten days ago, when he returned to the apartment from synagogue under the influence of alcohol, he approached her and woke her from her sleep. When he realized that she had smoked a cigarette, he began shouting and threatening her.

In another case, she went to prepare food for the baby and at the same time the defendant told her not to prepare food for him from this bottle, and when she spilled its contents it turned out to be full of alcohol. Following this, the defendant pushed her and she stumbled backwards. In response, the complainant began organizing her belongings while informing the defendant that she intended to leave the apartment. Suddenly he approached her and pushed her towards a bed as she fell on her back. Then he went to the door of the room, closed them together in the room and took out the door handle.
In response, the complainant again asked him to open the door, but the defendant refused, she went to the window and shouted for help, at which point the defendant approached, grabbed her hair and pulled her back forcefully as she fell to the ground. When she rose from her seat to take the baby, the defendant took her hands to prevent her from doing so and forcefully headbutted her forehead.
Death threats
The complainant told him that if he had done so while she was holding the baby, the baby would probably have been hurt and in response he told her that if her son was secular he would kill him and her mother. And so would she if she wouldn't let him see his child, adding that he would take out her eyes so she wouldn't be able to see the child.
A discussion continued between the two in which the defendant approached her and grabbed her neck forcefully with his right hand while pushing her onto the bed, while the complainant felt that she was left without air. The complainant still tried to kick the defendant but then stopped struggling and faked fainting in an attempt to get the accused to stop his actions.

In response, the defendant let go of her neck and then slapped her cheek hard with his right hand, telling her: "Don't play yourself fainting." The complainant pushed the accused away from her and went to the door to try to open it, at which point the accused took a pointed perfume and used it to scratch the complainant under her left shoulder repeatedly until blood gushed from her body.
According to another indictment, in another case where the defendant returned from synagogue intoxicated earlier this month, he asked to speak to the complainant. When she asked him to leave her alone, he blocked her mouth with his hand. The complainant pushed the defendant away from her and he pulled her hair and kicked her in the stomach with his leg, threatening to hit her if she went out with the child on Saturday. In response, the complainant shouted and his father called the police. When police arrived at the apartment, the defendant told her to be careful lest she speak.
