With hundreds of thousands of views on Instagram and TikTok, a video posted this week showing the unusually high costs of Mykonos, one of Greece's most visited islands, recently went viral.

I've traveled a lot of places, but this is the most expensive place I've ever spent in my life."

A TikTok star with 3.5 million followers named captainkatemccue posted a video a few weeks ago in which she talked about the exorbitant prices at the destination. The video, which has reached 1.3 million views, talks about a fish she ate at the restaurant for 616 euros, and in general about the very high prices in Mykonos.
The videos on TikTok and Instagram continue with examples of a simple sushi roll, six pieces for €22, fruit salad for €27 and sunbed rental for €95. Mykonos is considered one of the favorite destinations of the Israeli tourist, and many choose to come and spend their summer vacation there.
