Highlights: "Neuorientierung nullacht 12" offers job and training fairs in Peißenberg ice rink. Organisers switched to having the "job event" take place on two days. 60 exhibitors – authorities, companies and institutions – had to be accommodated with their stands. 600 visitors were counted on the first evening and 600 on the second day, so that at the beginning of the week 1200 visited the " Job event" in the ice rink, says organiser Nicola Schackmann.

In recent years, the "job event" offered by "Neuorientierung null-acht 12" in Peißenberg has always turned out to be a little bigger: After the Tiefstollenhalle, we went to the Wörther gymnasium, this year the ice rink was the venue.

Peißenberg – For most of the year, the ice rink in Peißenberg Wörth is all about ice sports. On Monday and Tuesday, everything revolved around job and training in the Peißenberg ice rink. Katharina Panholzer, Sabine Ostermann and Nicola Schackmann were guests in Peißenberg for the fifth time with their "job event", which they offer with "Neuorientierung nullacht 12" – and this time in the ice rink. In the end, 60 exhibitors – authorities, companies and institutions – had to be accommodated with their stands.

Job event divided into two days

On Monday evening, only a small part of the ice rink is separated, the rest is well filled with employers and training place providers as well as visitors. Even if the ranks thin out a little towards the end of the first day. Only a few young people – some with their parents – roam from stand to stand and seek advice.

After many years of "Neuorientierung nullacht 12" offering training and job fairs on one day, the organizers have now switched to having the "job event" take place on two days. "It's a good idea for parents to come together with their children on the first evening, and for the school classes to be there the next day," says Nicola Schackmann. The first evening is aimed at adults who are looking for jobs as well as young people who are looking for an apprenticeship.

The concept worked

The concept obviously worked: "This year's trade fair in Peißenberg was not only the largest in terms of square meters, but also in terms of the number of visitors," says Schackmann. 600 visitors were counted on the first evening and 600 on the second day, so that at the beginning of the week 1200 visited the "job event" in the ice rink.

The classes that visited the ice rink on Tuesday had previously registered. The students each had a job speed dating appointment and the opportunity to listen to various lectures on the topics of "training" and "profession". "It was quite lively, but the visitors came evenly distributed," says Schackmann, so that the exhibitors were able to cope well with the rush. Overall, she has received good feedback from businesses, companies and institutions. "They were very happy," says Schackmann.

Moving the date for the "job event", as proposed by various schools, from autumn to the last week of school before the summer holidays was a good decision, says the organiser. "The grades have been made and the students have a completely different leisure," says Schackmann: "They stayed in the hall much longer. It was almost a bit sociable."

The various hands-on activities of the exhibitors were also well received. For example, visitors to the "job event" were able to hammer nails, operate an excavator, practice resuscitating in the event of cardiac arrest, and build a small "Zarges box" as a piggy bank. All in all, the ice rink was so well suited as a trade fair venue that Schackmann could imagine holding the "job event" there again next year.
