A former U.S. Navy commander described his shocking encounter with a UFO

Highlights: Three former military personnel testified before a US House of Representatives subcommittee tasked with investigating so-called "anomalous unidentified phenomena" or UFOs. David Fravor, former commander of the Navy, recounted the meeting he had 15 years ago. He said he saw an "unidentified space object" (UAP) that impacted him when he saw it jump from one place to another faster than the "laws of physics" normally allow. The Pentagon denied Grusch's claims, saying investigators have not uncovered any verifiable information to corroborate claims.

The news shocked and reached the front pages of the most important media in the world. A congressional think tank has heard testimony from former military personnel who say the U.S. military may have undisclosed information about Unidentified Flying Objects.

In that meeting – after which the government was asked to report what it knows about the subject – David Fravor, former commander of the Navy, recounted the meeting he had 15 years ago.

Testimony: Former US Marine Described Chilling UFO Encounter

Last Wednesday, July 26, Fravor said that 15 years ago, he saw and filmed an "unidentified space object" (UAP) that impacted him when he saw it jump from one place to another faster than the "laws of physics" normally allow, according to The Mirror.

The sighting was maintained by him and other pilots over the Persian Gulf in 2004.

"When we looked around, we noticed there was white water to our right. The day of the incident was as close to a perfect day as you could ask for: clear sky, gentle winds, calm sea, so the white water stood out in the great blue ocean. When the four of us looked down we saw a small white object," he said, according to Euronews.

And he added when giving data about his meeting: "It went from 15,000 meters to 30 meters only in a matter of seconds, which is not possible," Fravor described when giving data about his meeting.

The former military officer explained that for a long time he maintained his silence because he did not want his name to be "linked to the crazy people who talk about 'little green men' who are out there."

"As we approached the object [...], it accelerated rapidly and disappeared right in front of our plane. Our partner, who was about 2500 meters above us, also lost eye contact. We immediately turned to investigate the white water and discovered that it was also missing," the pilot said.

The object, he stated in his presentation, "was far superior in performance to my brand new F/A-18F, and did not operate with any of the known aerodynamic principles we expect for objects flying in our atmosphere."

UFOs: Testimony before the US Congress

The three retired military personnel who presented their experience argued that what US authorities have been detecting over the country's airspace for decades could be a threat to national security, regardless of its origin.

All of them testified before a US House of Representatives subcommittee tasked with investigating so-called "anomalous unidentified phenomena" or UFOs.

Given the abundance of witnesses, in many cases military or civilian pilots, the members of the subcommittee demanded that the US government establish a "transparent and secure" system so that these incidents can be reported to the authorities without damaging the reputation of the witnesses.

Where is the evidence?

According to one of the testimonies heard, that of David Grusch, the United States is hiding a long-standing program that recovers and reverse-engineers UFOs.

Grusch said the government is withholding information on the issue from the public and Congress, and that he personally interviewed people with direct knowledge about non-human craft.

"My testimony is based on information I have been receiving from individuals with a long history of legitimacy and service to this country, many of whom also share compelling evidence in the form of photographs, official documentation and classified oral testimony," Grusch told lawmakers.

In addition, he claimed to know the existence of the material although, he maintained, he could not give more information in a public hearing.

When asked if the government had information about extraterrestrial life, Grusch replied that the United States has likely been aware of "non-human" activity since the 1930s.

What the Pentagon says

The Pentagon denied Grusch's claims of a possible cover-up.

In a statement, Defense Department spokeswoman Sue Gough said investigators have not uncovered "any verifiable information to corroborate claims that any program related to the possession or reverse engineering of extraterrestrial materials has existed or currently exists."
