In the telecoms sector, the first half of 2023 was a test for most operators. Fighting a few years ago a fierce price battle since the arrival of Free in 2012 on the sector, most of them had vocally announced in recent months their desire to raise the costs of their offers, especially on mobile.
For them, it was a question of counteracting the effects of inflation, including energy costs, which were eating away at their margins. Christel Heydemann, boss of Orange, confirmed from March the increase of an increase of 1 to 2 euros on its fixed and mobile price lists. Before that, Bouygues and SFR had also made increases in their various packages in January. Only Free had then indicated its willingness to leave its prices unchanged - even if in reality the options of its packages had also seen their price increase.
