Likud MK Eli Dellal announced on Friday that henceforth he would not lend his hand to a unilateral move by the coalition. "In the hope of mending the terrible rift in the people of Israel, in light of the many challenges and with the good of the State of Israel and the unity of the people of Israel before my eyes, I announce that I will give my hand only to steps that will be achieved with broad national consensus," he wrote. He is the first Likud MK to say yes.
This morning, Agriculture Minister Avi Dichter wrote that "there are 'thugs' who endanger the country by dragging into extreme legislation, or by drifting into extreme and violent protest." Dichter emphasized that his criticism relates to both sides, and he directs it at those who ignore the "fracture" that society is going through.

MK Dellal is the one who submitted the bill to split the position of Attorney General. After harsh criticism, the Likud issued a statement repudiating the bill, claiming that it would not be promoted, and Netanyahu was not involved in the process of introducing it. Finally, Dalal pulled him from the table, "in light of my lack of intention to promote him in the current Knesset and a genuine and sincere desire for talks, compromises and reaching agreements."
