Germany started in the lead, led for a long time thanks to its two best torchbearers before returning to the ranks (finally 7th). Great Britain, the big favourite, logically won this Friday in the 4 x 200 m freestyle relay.
In 6:59.08, she beat the United States (7:00.02) and Australia (7:02.13). The France (Hadrien Salvan, Amazigh Yebba, Enzo Tesic and Léon Marchand), water line n°2 had to settle for 4th place (7'03''86), thanks in particular to the last blue relay.
The France team did not, for the occasion, break the national record. Léon Marchand, triple world champion, may have one last chance to shine at the world championships that he left his mark with 3 world titles with the 4 x 100 m 4 medley relay.
