A slamming iron noise suddenly breaks the tranquility of this large garden. The weather is cool, but a beautiful sun waters this green setting, in a private residence in Neuilly-sur-Seine. In the middle of the lawn, two parliamentarians cross swords. In shirt arms, collar open and without tie, Gaston Defferre, deputy mayor of Marseille and René Ribière, elected Gaullist of Val d'Oise, face each other in a duel with the sword. At their side, the referee of this fight "for honor", the elected UNR Jean de Lipkowski, follows the confrontation with an attentive and serious eye. And as it is not every day that two deputies face each other in a duel "in the first blood", a camera immortalizes this little moment of history.
