The Cabinet meeting opened Sunday morning in a smiling atmosphere, with some of the ministers praising each other and even taking bites at each other.
Transportation Minister Miri Regev and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich spoke at a cabinet meeting on Sunday morning about the increase in public transportation fares, a few days before the expected opening of the Red Line on the Gush Dan Light Rail.

Regev told Smotrich: "It's not easy with you. A lot of struggles. But in the end, it brings good things." Addressing criticism of the increase in fares, Smotrich said: "I hear the crying – fifty percent discount for those who travel on a monthly pass means that more citizens will switch to public transportation and this will require us to provide more solutions. This is a dramatic revolution in public transportation."
Justice Minister Yariv Levin was absent from the cabinet meeting after the tumultuous week he endured with the approval of the law to reduce reasonableness.

Science and Technology Minister Ofir Akunis also received permission to speak, telling his fellow ministers: "We have a great responsibility to lead Israeli high-tech. We are working to return Israel to its rightful place at the top of the world. Last week we passed the Law for the Encouragement of High-Tech Industries in the Knesset. A law of great importance for removing Israeli high-tech from the global crisis.

"The previous government canceled Yitzhak Shamir's scholarships, scholarships for scientists who worked abroad, and we will return this in order to bring them back to work here in Israel. We will soon bring to the government principles of ethics and artificial intelligence," Akunis elaborated.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said: "Today, the Protection Law, which provides a solution to this phenomenon, is being passed for the first time. This is great news for the south and north, the law allows money to be forfeited. This is great news for the police and citizens. Another law being passed today is the Electronic Coupling Law. Today we are bringing a law that is good news for both men and women, and we will pass the law accurately, contrary to what was done in the previous government."

"I allowed the ministers to bring a number of things that we are dealing with," Prime Minister Netanyahu said. "The work is being carried out across government ministries in various fields, although I know that public attention is diverted from the work being done here.
"We are working for the benefit of all citizens throughout the country, in infrastructure, education, culture, welfare and transportation. And there's one topic we're working: artificial intelligence. We added half a billion shekels to the budget beyond what was and we will add additional floors because the test right now is who perceives the future now. Whoever seizes the future will turn Israel into one of the five artificial intelligence powers in the world."
