2023-07-31T10:24:32.524Z

Highlights: Minister of Energy and Infrastructure posted a tweet on his private Twitter page. Dozens of users responded, some humorously and some less. The tweet comes against the background of the close date of the opening of the Tel Aviv Light Rail's Red Line. The opening is made possible after the final safety approval has been received, and after heavy pressure exerted by Minister Regev. "Being a politician is hard. Work around the clock, intrusion into private life. But this moment, when the train will go, is worth everything," Katz wrote.

Energy and Infrastructure Minister Yisrael Katz posted a humorous tweet on Sunday to his Twitter page in honor of the launch of the light rail with a photo of the train and Ben-Gurion's statue from Gordon Beach, under the caption "I'm sure he would be proud."

Dozens of web surfers did not remain indifferent and filled the minister's private Twitter account with comments:

Other web surfers were not so amused: "It took 24 years to build a 24-kilometer railway line - that's an average of one year of work per kilometer of track..." Respondent reporter. "Don't understand what you have to celebrate so much, Minister Katz?!"

"Now to the question of mathematical trivia - according to the same developer: How long will it take to build a railway line from Kiryat Shmona to Eilat, which today the Minister of Transport and the Prime Minister announced to promote?!"

The minister's tweet comes against the backdrop of a multi-participant media meeting next Thursday on preparations for opening the Red Line. The opening is made possible after the final safety approval has been received, and after heavy pressure exerted by Minister Regev.

Katz wrote on his Twitter page: "The light rail will soon open and bring huge transportation news to the residents of Gush Dan. For me, this is one of the highlights of my political career. From the 60s, we planned a light rail in Tel Aviv, but the project was stuck. Being a politician is hard. Work around the clock, intrusion into private life. But this moment, when the train will go, is worth everything."
