Attack in Egypt: An unusual shooting incident took place Sunday night at a police headquarters in the northern Sinai island, killing at least four policemen, including an officer. Two state officials told The Associated Press.
According to the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, at least 21 other security personnel were wounded in the shooting incident that took place at the National Security Council in the city of El Arish, the capital of Sinai's northern province. Among the wounded were eight officers.

The news agency reported that the list of casualties indicates that some of them were injured by the gunfire and some suffered breathing difficulties as a result of a tear gas canister thrown outside the facility. This may indicate organized action.
The circumstances of the shooting are still unclear, and as of now, no official response has been issued by the Public Security Ministry. However, it should be noted that northern Sinai is the focal point of the military confrontation between the Egyptian army and ISIS's local branch and Islamist terrorist elements with which it has fought in recent years. The Egyptian army's effort bore fruit and terrorist activities were reduced, but from time to time terrorist attacks are still carried out.
