This week, the Knesset held a rare closed session, in which members of the Absorption Committee and members of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee joined forces to hear details about the cessation of the emergency immigration procedure from Russia. This procedure, which began during the Russia-Ukraine war, enabled the immigration of tens of thousands of Jews from both countries, while shortening bureaucratic procedures. The Ministry of Aliyah and Integration was alarmed that shortening the procedures would lead to the fact that even non-Jews according to Jewish law would "infiltrate" Israel, so it decided to reinstate the cumbersome procedure. At the end of the secret Knesset hearing, the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption agreed to postpone by a month and a half the decision to close the immigration centers, which were intended to shorten proceedings. Who needs Jews in Israel who only see us as their brothers, define themselves as Jews, but do not meet the criteria of the Ministry of Immigrant Absorption? This is a nationalist government that causes decline and rejects immigration. It also encourages the identification and absorption of red cows, in order to slaughter them, burn them, purify the impurity of the dead with their ashes, and consequently allow every Jew to ascend to the Temple Mount. We were a nation of sacrificial people, and we did so when we ascended the Temple in Jerusalem on three legs. After the destruction of the Temple, the High Priest Joshua ben Gamla and the president of the Sanhedrin Shimon ben Shetach issued halachic rulings ordering the obligation to establish a school in every Jewish community in the Land of Israel. They were intended, mainly, for children (males only, of course...) whose ancestors were not alive, or who were unable to teach them. As a result of these regulations, Judaism transformed from a sacrificial religion, like all other religions, to the People of the Book. Literacy has become our symbol, the main factor in our prosperity in all the places we have traveled. Now the dark elements are preparing the ascent to the Temple Mount for the Jews, and are seeking to restore the People of the Book to its former state – offering sacrifices.
