Slightly pink water at the tap. This is the surprise that residents of Romilly-sur-Seine (Aube) had Sunday, when they wanted to use running water, reports L'Est Éclair. Quickly, the water management company Veolia was alerted, as well as the Regional Health Agency (ARS).
Residents were warned by a message from Veolia explaining that purge operations were underway on the network and that the ARS recommended not to consume or use tap water when it was colored.

The reason for this coloration would come from a malfunction "that released a little more potassium permanganate than usual", a water treatment product, explains to France 3 the company.
Bottles of water were distributed to citizens with a pink water problem and on Monday the problem was solved, local newspapers reported. Analyses have also shown that the water was not unfit for consumption, so this Monday evening it is again possible to consume tap water.
If it is still pink, Veolia advises to let it run for a few moments, then it should become translucent again.
