Around 3,500 visitors came to the cornfield party of the Ascholdinger Burschenverein on Saturday. Four people were arrested by the police - but First Chief Inspector Emanuel Luferseder speaks of a "successful event".

Ascholding – For the fifth time, the Ascholding boys' association organized a cornfield party – according to police estimates, around 3500 visitors celebrated a boozy open-air party on the dirt road on Saturday evening (we reported). "We are very satisfied, from our point of view it was a very successful event," said the secretary of the Burschenverein, Benedikt Harrer, when asked by our newspaper. Emanuel Luferseder, head of the Geretsried police department, comes to the same conclusion – but he has to pour some water into the wine.

It's one of the biggest open-air parties in the Oberland – and it takes a lot of helping hands to hold it. About 150 volunteers, according to Harrer, worked behind the scenes on Saturday. "Mainly members from our ranks" – not to forget the girls' association. The 24-year-old also says a big thank you to the forces of the BRK as well as the approximately 20 volunteers from the fire brigades from Ascholding and Dietramszell, who steered the search for a parking space in an orderly manner.

If everyone organized their events so well, we would have less to do.

For the first time this year, the boys had to present a security concept before the event in consultation with representatives of the police, the BRK and the municipality. "That was great," Geretsried's police chief Luferseder told our newspaper. After the cornfield party in 2019, which involved a number of crimes – including an assault on a police officer – "the boys did their homework". Luferseder gives the people of Ascholdingen a very good report card "from a police point of view": "If everyone organized their events so well, we would have less to do."

Königsdorferin (22) collapses unconscious after drug consumption

But the truth also includes: "There were four arrests and two detentions, eight criminal charges and two traffic accidents." The details: A 22-year-old woman from Königsdorf collapsed unconscious in the entrance area at around 19:30 p.m. It turned out that she had apparently consumed various legal and illegal drugs shortly before. The ambulance service took the young woman to a hospital. Her friend, a 25-year-old from Bad Tölz, was carrying small amounts of cocaine, cannabis, amphetamine and hashish – she was also provisionally arrested.

Around 20:30 p.m., the emergency services noticed a Geretsriederin (18) on the festival grounds, who was also carrying a small amount of marijuana. They, too, were provisionally detained by the officers. About two hours later, the same fate befell a Penzberger (28) – the police secured cocaine from him.

Wolfratshauser (27) defends himself vehemently - and threatens police officers

With the help of a drone used that evening, the police observed two young men at around 1:15 a.m., who moved or removed the barrier and signage in the area of the parking lot. As a result, the outgoing traffic briefly rolled along a dirt road that was to remain free for emergency services. Luferseder: "A departing ambulance was hindered by this, but fortunately there was no health disadvantage for the patient inside." The perpetrators, two 24-year-olds from Burghausen (district of Altötting), were arrested by the police for the time being – both had significantly more than 1.5 per thousand alcohol in their blood. They are awaiting trial for dangerous interference with road traffic.

At around 2 a.m., a Wolfratshauser behaved extremely aggressively. The security service used by the organizer initially expelled him from the festival grounds and banned him from the house. This did not impress the 27-year-old, so that police forces spoke a word of power. When this also did not bear fruit, the man was to be taken into custody. The heavily drunk Wolfratshauser vehemently defended himself against this, filmed the officers and announced that he would spread the recordings on social networks. All this did not help him much, until the end of the cornfield party, the police took care of him – two investigations have been initiated against him.

The professional cooperation between the specialist services on site as well as the trusting and close communication with the organizer should be emphasized. In the end, both contributed to a successful event.

Geretsried's police chief Emanuel Luferseder

Around 3 a.m., the festival grounds were completely empty at that time, according to Luferseder, there was a traffic accident on Feldstraße, which caused three minor injuries. The perpetrator was traveling against the direction of travel in the direction of Tattenkofen and collided with his car with pedestrians. Luferseder: "Three people were thrown to the side by the impact and slightly injured, but they were able to go into treatment on their own afterwards." The accident driver fled, according to eyewitnesses it is a man. The vehicle had a TÖL license plate "and is likely to show damage, especially in the area of the exterior mirrors". Presumably, it is a white or silver-colored VW Caddy. Information can be obtained from the Geretsried police station by calling 0 81 71/9 35 10.

BRK has to provide outpatient care for 14 festival-goers - four have to go to a clinic

Around 3:45 a.m., a 52-year-old woman from Frauenneuharting (Ebersberg district) wanted to pick up her son from the cornfield party and turned right from state road 2072 onto Feldstraße. This had been declared a one-way street for the duration of the event and signposted accordingly. About five meters after the turnoff, the woman stopped with her car on the side of the road and let her son get in. She then sat back briefly and overlooked the car of an Eglinger (57) standing behind her. The collision resulted in total property damage of several thousand euros.

By the official end of the event, the BRK's on-site medical service reported 14 outpatient treatments as well as the transport of four festival visitors to surrounding clinics. "The professional cooperation between the specialist services on site as well as the trusting and close communication with the organizer should be emphasized," said police chief Luferseder on Monday. "In the end, both contributed to a successful event." Judging by the high number of festival visitors, "one can easily speak of a trouble-free course without any special incidents". (cce)
