Independiente is excited about the return of a prodigal son of the club. The leadership is in negotiations to incorporate Federico Mancuello and they are close to being able to finalize the return.
Although Mancuello belongs to Puebla de Mexico and the chance of his return had cooled when he signed the renewal of his contract with the Mexican club until 2025, talks between the leaders and the player remained. And now they will try to make the effort to get the left-handed midfielder back on red.

In recent weeks, in fact, the talks advanced. And from the club they let him know that it could be a propitious moment that he turns around and gives a hand to the Red, who is going through a complicated sporting moment. The player, according to his environment, gave the go-ahead to return to Avellaneda.
From the leadership they are very prudent, in any case, although they are confident that the negotiation will come to fruition. In fact, between Independiente and Mancuello there is already an agreement for him to sign for two years. The obstacle would be in his departure from Puebla, a team with which he renewed his contract 4 months ago until 2025, but also the leaders are already working on that issue.
If his return occurs, Independiente would get a player who can bring all his talent to the middle of the field and in turn, would be important for the dressing room since it is a symbol of Red, which is identified with the institution and that could contribute two fundamental aspects: hierarchy and experience.

Mancuello is eager to help the club. And he already showed it when together with Hernán Pellerano he took the lead as organizer of a WhatsApp group with about 50 players who passed through the institution and who maintain a very special feeling of loyalty for the Red to collaborate with the collection that Santiago Maratea armed.
Mancuello debuted in the Primera de Independiente in 2008 and had two steps for the club since he was on loan for a year in Belgrano de Córdoba (in the 2011-2012 season) and the second part concluded in 2016. With Rojo he won the Copa Sudamericana 2010 and was also part of the return to Primera in 2014.
