He was snatched from life far too early by a tragic accident. The mourning for the 20-year-old Felix Mettenleiter from Kirchdorf is great.
Kirchdorf – There was no more space available in the parish church of St. Martin in Kirchdorf/Amper, and the pews that were set up in front of the church were occupied. Many visitors stood to bid farewell to a lovable, committed young person: Felix Mettenleiter, who died after a tragic motorcycle accident on Schönthaler Berg on Sunday, July 16. He was only 20 years old.

The altar boys, Georg Wendl from the church administration, the former senior minister Lukas Wiederspick and also the Catholic Rural Youth, represented by Andreas Kleidorfer, all put it the same way: Felix was simply something special.
Since his First Communion in 2011, Felix Mettenleiter has been involved as an altar boy. He had been involved with the rural youth, was most recently active as treasurer and also bearer of the club flag, which was now lowered over his grave for the last farewell.

Despite his young age, he has sacrificed a lot of time for others with incredible commitment, he has been exemplary in volunteering. "He lived it," said BLSV district chairwoman Margit Conrad, because Felix was also active in this organization as spokesman for the Bavarian Youth in the Freising district. And he found time for all these volunteer tasks, although he had been very busy as a landscape gardener.

"What he has done, you would need three people today," said Father Hermann Schlicker, who designed the requiem with Father Abraham.
There was always something to laugh about with him.

How popular Felix was was shown by the emotional emotions. Despite his young age, he knew how to keep the younger ones in check. Of course, Lukas Wiederspick said, there was noise from time to time, but Felix had the whole thing under control. "He whistled once, and there was silence." And he talks about the funny excursions with the altar boys, where there was always something to laugh about – especially because of Felix. Wiederspick remembers that the beds and also the duvets were far too short for the tall guy. Felix took it with humor, he had a lot of humor – everyone will miss him. (Margit Conrad)
