After several cats were abandoned, helpers from an animal welfare association wrote a Facebook post. In it, they showed their bewilderment at the way the animals were treated.
Altötting – Bewilderment and frustration spread among the helpers when they had to accept five baby cats. The cats were "found by attentive people" on Sunday (6 August) and brought to the Winhöring animal shelter in the district of Altötting. The Altötting Animal Welfare Association addressed the previous owners of the abandoned cats in a Facebook post.

Middle finger instead of paw: helpers horrified after finding baby cats
The animal welfare association thanked the people "who did not look away" and emphasized that the cats will survive thanks to their help. The lifesavers found the animals in the Altöttinger Gries after someone else had abandoned them there. These were also the last niceties that the helpers had ready, whereupon they handed out harsh words for the former owners.
"Thank you for treating us like garbage and just disposing of us," wrote the helpers from the animal welfare association on Facebook. "People like you probably don't have a conscience." On behalf of the cats, the helpers wrote that the paws of the animals were not shaped like human hands, otherwise they would have already shown their former owners the middle finger for their neglect.
The young cats cannot yet be placed. Since these are found animals, they must first be taken to the veterinarian and examined. The doctors have to see if they are healthy and vaccinate them afterwards. It is not yet known when interested parties will be able to contact us to give the cats a new home.

"What kind of horrible people are there?": Facebook users show their bewilderment
The Facebook followers of the animal welfare association were equally horrified by the discovery of the baby cats. Even though they showed their gratitude for the rescue, they were angry with their former owner. In the comments, bewilderment quickly spread.

Facebook users angry and stunned by dealing with cats – a selection of comments:
- "I can't understand that. You don't do something so heartless."
- "These 'people' have a big stone where there is normally a heart! Thank God these little souls were found by people with hearts."
- "Maybe karma will come back to the terrible people"
- "What kind of horrible people are there? The poor cats. So dear sweet creatures! How can you do something like that!? Hopefully these people will be found!"
Some users pointed out the cameras in the Altöttinger Gries. Someone suggested in the comments to evaluate the cameras at the entrance and exit, hoping to find a person with a cardboard box full of cats. The animal welfare association is grateful for any indication of the identity of the former owners.
